Me!

I'm simple, yet complicated. Am working, but always broke! Friendly, and talkative never know when to stop! Love shopping, but so overweight, none of the clothes fit me! Love....

........why can't life be this simple?

Government vs Private -- April 24, 2008 6:09 p.m.

The scenario of dealing with government office every time i need some data are like repetitively the same. when i started studying this field 7 years ago, i was so frustrated with the system. Yes, not all government offices are suck. But, since i'm particularly in this field, there are only a few services that i have to go whenever i need data or any information.

Tt started when a few years, back in my diploma years. i had to do a lot of research. sometimes for my assignment, sometimes for my course projects. a lot of time, i felt so frustrated whenever i got pushe over the side by whoever government officers who felt that they didnt have to treat me GOOD just because i'm a STUDENT!

The same thing happened again after sometimes, and that was in my postgraduate years. i had a lot of research to do, a lot of assignment which requires me to have a lot of data and that's mean a lot of dealing with the government offices.

Most of the times, i was so frustrated i had this thinking of NOT wanting to work in the public services coz i'm afraid i'll turn out to be just like those officers that i met.

Ok, first! NOT all government services and officers like this ok. Hanya segelintir saja. These are the kind of things that I myself had to deal, see and experience. Nothing to do with other people or not rumours. Bukan nak memburuk-burukkan sesiapa sekadar meluahkan perasaan dan ketidakpuasan hati...

Then, second, what are the bad experience or things that i had to deal?

Here are some of the things;

Called them, asked for whom it concern, turned out that ley left me on the phone, listening to some crappy music on the background, only 20 minutes later, came back and informed me that the person was IN the office that day/ went to clinic/ on medical leave/ in the meeting/ yadda..yadda..!

Called, been asked to wait, obviously not knowing what to do with me and my request/ not knowing waddahell i was talking about, leave the phone while i could hear every single words they've been talking about (gossips about artist/actress/some bosses that they hate) without ever bothering to mute the phone, and then came back to me with nothing.!

Called them, asked them about some data, only to know that ALL officers in charge about that were not IN because they were on some courses in somewhere. ALL of them were gone, except the cleark, who obviously so dumb and not knowing how to run the department!

Called them, asked to speak to particular department, only to be directed to another one, then another one, then to a different department then again and again until hilf an hour later, i hd got nothing!!..

Been to an industrial training for a few month in one particular so-called famous government services, only to know that their routines are all the same for the rest of your services there.

! the schedule:
1. Come in and punch the card
2. Open the computer
3. Go for breakfast @ cafe/pantry
4. Come back, do some works
5. 10 am; go to some tables, obviosult someone brought some foods to the office OR have tea time @ cafe/pantry
6. An hour later, come back to the desk, work for an hour or so.
7. Lunch hour/pray/nap in surau
8. Come back, work for ann hour
9. Tea time!!
10. Come back, work a little bit..cleaning up the desk
11. GO HOME! Wait by the punch machine for the thing to beep/or waiting for the music...!!

Basically, that's what i saw for the few months and itw as enuff for me to know the whole thing!

HOWEVER!

Please ok, this is AGAIN! not for ALL offices. as a matter of fact, all my brothers and sisters who are in public services are good, dedicated employee.

So, that's why I'm not ready to work with them yet. Maybe in near future, when i'm ready. And maybe when i feel that the scenario changes.

Maybe!
